Some stories are bigger than a script. This donor outreach piece for the Rhode Island Foundation was one of them; an invitation to believe in what happens when a community shows up for itself.
From the first line, the creative direction was simple: keep it human.
The Foundation’s mission—mobilizing generosity and motivating change—already carries weight.

My job was to give it a voice that feels close, warm, and genuine. Less “campaign,” more conversation.
We wanted viewers to hear themselves in the message: neighbors helping neighbors, small acts becoming lasting progress.

The read starts at street level – familiar places, everyday moments, real Rhode Islanders.
Then it opens up, connecting individual gifts to bigger outcomes: classrooms that feel resourced, families with a stronger safety net, ideas that turn into opportunities.
The tone stays steady and encouraging, never pushy. It’s about trust. Clarity. That quiet confidence you get when you know your contribution actually matters.

Pacing-wise, we let key phrases breathe—“Only together,” “progress that lasts,” “a thriving Rhode Island.”
The VO (voiceover) sits in the pocket with gentle music and honest visuals, guiding the eye without stealing the scene.
It’s crafted to mirror the Foundation’s values: collaboration, equity, and a heart for all. No jargon. No noise. Just a clear path to join in.

What I love about nonprofit work, especially with partners like the Rhode Island Foundation, is the purpose behind every frame.
You can feel the impact in the details: a look, a handshake, a shared moment that says, “We’re in this together.”

If your foundation is rallying donors—annual funds, matching challenges, community priorities—I bring a warm, credible voice that keeps the focus on people and possibility.
Conversation over complexity. Heart over hype.

Let’s invite your audience to be part of the work—and build the future we all hope for, together.
